Why do some Kerrbally products have preservatives?
 
Many of our products are void of all preservatives because they only contain the highest quality oils. However where preservatives are needed for product safety for example in water based creams and lotions that can develop bacteria we use the best natural grade preservatives available to the cosmetics industry.

Why are anti-oxidants good for the skin?

Some Anti-oxidants are made in the body and are found in food such as Vitamin E & C. They are highly active in protecting cells from the damage caused by circulating free-radicals. These vitamins ease rashes and eczema repair tissue damage caused by cuts and grazes, inhibit inflammation and encourage healing all of which relieves itching and dryness.

What are the characteristics of the different skin types?

Dry/Sensitive Skin Type

The surface of the skin will appear dry and rough to the touch if the glands just beneath the surface do not produce enough sebum. This type of skin is usually fine and close grained in appearance. Easily damaged by the elements such as wind, sun, and dry atmosphere e.g. central heating. Symptoms are often displayed as Redness, swelling, itching, burning sensation, scaly skin, inflammed and painful skin.

Oily Skin Type

The surface of the skin often appears very shiny due to the over production of sebum from the glands. This can result in conditions such as Acne, where the skin can become very inflamed painful and result in scarring. This can also be displayed as an eruption of spotty skin (white heads) all over the face with blackheads concentrated around the nose area. This skin type often has a pot hole appearance and is prone to infection.

Mature Skin Type

Often mature skin is defined in ages anywhere from 40 upwards because chemicals and hormones start to change in your body. This can occur earlier for some people than others. This obviously influences changes in your skin; hence it is not suitable for your skin to continue with a skin care regime you may have practiced previously.The surface of the skin can appear discoloured, dry and crêpe. With signs of broken capillaries, sagging, possibly thread veins in the cheeks and the common signs of crowsfeet around the eyes. Some mature skins become less oily as they grow older due to a slow decline in production of sebum. Connective tissue which forms a great part of the inner layers of the Dermis, cause the skin to lose its elasticity, becoming thin in appearance and wrinkly. It can also become very dry, dehydrated, tight, cold and itchy. The skin just lacks vitality and needs an extract boost to help cell regeneration.

Normal Skin Type

This skin type is as suggested normal with a clear, fresh, healthy looking appearance often associated with younger skin. It has a fine texture and a slightly moist surface neither dry nor oily. The skin can be pliable and firm. A skin type you want to maintain with the right products because it can be easily affected by the environment, stress, diet, sun and simply natural aging.

Combination Skin Type

This skin type is denoted by the classic T- Zone, which is a mixed skin type with oily patches where the sebaceous glands are more numerous around the nose, chin and forehead and dry skin on the remainder of the face. This displays itself as spotty eruptions in the oily zones and flaky and tight skin in the dry areas. This results in specific needs for the different areas of skin and it is vital that you use a product that addresses this need.

I am a potential customer for your everyday skin care range for men, why should I use it?

The six products in this range have been developed to suit an everyday skin care routine for you. Each product has a specific benefit in helping you to maintain healthy skin. Particularly after being exposed to a routine of shaving and more generally the harsh environmental elements, diet and stress.

Once a Kerrbally skin care product has been opened how long can I safely use it?

Each product label illustrates the open jar logo which indicates the recommended use within time period. This ranges from 6-9 months and is product dependant. Please refer to individual product labelling. We do not use any artificial preservatives in our products, as the essential oils act as a natural preservative. Unopened, products will last for a minimum of 18 months. Ideally they should be stored in a cool place, out of direct sunlight.

Can I use face oil under makeup?

Yes. Each face oil for the specific skin types if used correctly will readily absorb into your skin. After applying the oil leave for a few minutes and then apply your makeup.

I am pregnant can I use any of the Kerrbally Skin Care range?

There is a lot of controversial and conflicting information documented surrounding the use of essential oils during pregnancy. Research to date into the use of essential oils during pregnancy is based on the assumption that these oils are generally safe but there are no clinical trials to prove otherwise. We would always recommend that you seek the advice of a doctor.

Kerrbally would like to make it clear that the concentration of essential oils in their skin care formulations are well over the amount deemed safe during pregnancy i.e. >1%. Currently we have three products we can recommend for use in pregnancy, Vital Milk Cleanser, Organic Toner and Dead Sea Mineral Salts in each range.

Can I use Kerrbally Skin Care products around my eyes?

Yes, because there are no aggravating chemicals in any of the products. The cleanser works very well on even the most stubborn waterproof mascara.
